Book Sharing Monday

Good Morning!

Today I'm sharing a book I'm reading from the library.  It's Living Simply With Children: A Voluntary Simplicity Guide for Moms, Dads, and Kids Who Want to Reclaim the Bliss of Childhood and the Joy of Parenting by Marie Sherlock

Yeah, it's the ultimate oxymoron!!

I'm just about half way through.  It's an easy read--written in nice 'chucks,' as I call it.  The sections are small enough to read and be interrupted and you don't have to go back and re-read to catch up on the thought (my kind of book for reading with children around!). :D

The first part of the book gives information and background on the whole Simplicity 'movement' while the second half shares interviews with actual families who have changed things to live more simply as well as practical information for how to do it.  We are definitely seeking to live more simply so we can not only enjoy the time with our children but make less negative impact on the earth and positive impact in our community.  I'd highly recommend this one to any of you who 1) want to know more about this and 2) want some practical advice on just where to begin.

Looking forward to checking out what books you're recommending/sharing today!

Happy Book Sharing Monday!

This sounds right up my ally. I will have to check it out at our library. That's my goal to live more simply. Thanks for sharing Leslie.

I have looked at this book quite often, and I am sure it is on my wish list somewhere, but i wondered if it was worth the read. I might look again now. thanks for that. x
