So we've made another trip to the library. Word is getting around [the library] that we've started a reading challenge. My children were excitedly telling another librarian about all the books they were going to read (ok, have read to them! smile). We ended up checking out another large set of books. I think I checked out 40 (which includes my two younger children's selections) and my older daughter checked out 15 of her own. Now there is a pile of books in the living room and I'm thinking...what did I get myself into??? LOL!
I am enjoying the new stories--trying to not only choose books that 'look' good but also ones that I've past over before or may have never picked. We've already found some books that are becoming favorites. We sat and read 10 books last evening and will probably read more this afternoon. The reward for getting things cleaned up today will be more reading time!!
I'm even more excited about how many of you have decided to join in! I've been showing the growing list of names to my children--we've looked at each of your pages to 'meet' you and your children. My son, in amazement said, "they reading too, mommy?" I told him, "Yes, baby, they're reading with us too!" It's so nice to have company. Thanks!

We didn't get to the library yesterday which is our library day, but we did read a bunch of books. We have about 40 here some old favorites and some new to us. The twins are really getting excited about this challenge.

What a wonderful picture! My 5 yo is a little skeptical; she doesn't believe we can read 100 books in a month. We're going to have fun trying!

We went to the library the other day and got a few more books to add to our pile. I also have a few at home that we picked up at a book sale which we never read.
I'm not sure if you planned to, but if you or your children find some books that are really loved by the family, then please share the titles.
I love seeing kids surrounded by books and loving to read.

@Amy: Yeah, mine were a little bit skeptical, but we've almost reached this month's goal and we still have most of the month left! I'm sure, once you do it, she won't be as skeptical next month! ;-)
