Book Sharing Monday

The book we've chosen to share this Monday is People written and illustrated by Peter Spier. I really like books like this: that are full of interesting pictures. I purchased this used (like most of my books) so we don't have a dust jacket. However, that hasn't stopped us from enjoying this book. The point of this book is the emphasis on the differences among the billions of people on earth.

The quote at the beginning of the book is:
"In many ways the saying "know thyself" is not well said.
It were more practical to say "know other people!"
~Menander, 343-292, Greek poet

The illustrations help to point out all the differences and varieties in people all over the world. Our shapes & sizes, our colors, our eyes...

The shapes of our noses, lips and ears...our hair.

Our languages and writing...

We think this is a book that you will enjoy reading and looking at over and over and over (as I'm uploading this, my kids are fighting over who will get to look at it again first).

Happy Reading!!!
